Since the beginning of December, several blogs have reported that Ilford will be releasing a new 35mm camera called Sprite 35-II. No release date has been announced yet but the camera is already showcased on their website.

The Sprite 35-II is a reusable 35mm plastic film camera that is simple and easy to use. The camera is perfect for those who want to dip their toes in film photography or for novice film photographers who want a spare camera to carry around.

The Ilford Sprite 35-II continues that heritage and will meet the needs of people experimenting with 35mm film and looking for a camera that’s ‘no frills’ simple. It’s a step up from disposable cameras, and being re-usable, it won’t create extra waste.

Ilford

This camera is a revival of the Ilford Sprite 35 (image below) but does not look quite like it. Instead, the Sprite 35-II’s form-factor is similar to that of rangefinders.

Available in black and black & silver, this 35mm camera has the basics right: shutter speed of 1/120; built-in flash, manual rewind, f9 fixed focus wide-angle lens.

All you need to do to get this camera running is a film roll and a AAA battery to get the flash running.
