Fountain pen manufacturer, TWSBI, now sells fountain pen ink! Last April, TWSBI announced on their social media channels that they will be releasing fountain pen inks, unfortunately without a release date. In October, they announced that they will officially release six fountain pen inks on October 18th.

The bottles are sold as a set ($34.99) and also individually ($6.50).

TWSBI 1791 Inks

These limited edition inks are called the 1791 inks which is an homage to a Chinese book called “Dream of Red Chambers”.

The 1791 series comes from a book written in China in the year 1791 called “Dream of Red Chambers”. It’s one of China’s 4 great classical novels and we picked colors out of the buildings and descriptions within this book for this 6pack series of inks.

There are six inks in the 1791 fountain pen ink line:

  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Prarie Green
  • Emerald Green
  • Sky Blue
  • Royal Purple

The bottles are only 18ml and resemble the Sailor Ink Studio bottles. 18ml is a fair amount especially for people who only occasionally use their fountain pens.

Other Updates: More Inks to Come

TWSBI will also launch a bigger bottle (70ml) that will include a funnel for easier filling. The colors that are slated to be released by December 2019 are black, dark blue, blue black, and red (these colors are not offered in the TWSBI 1791 product line). TWSBI has not confirmed if this will be a regular offering or limited edition.
