TWSBI is reportedly bringing back the Rose Gold Diamond 580 fountain pen in 2019.
The Diamond 580RG was one of their older limited edition fountain pens which was released around 2014-2015.
In May 2019, TWSBI announced that the 580RG will make a comeback in 2019. They provided an update on improvements being done and minor differences from the 2014/2015 model, “We’ve improved on the rose-gold plating, added more rose gold on inner parts, and changed to transparent black.”
At the time, they hadn’t given an official release date but only mentioned that it will be released “in a few months” and that it will cost around $80-90. TWSBI enthusiasts naturally have constantly been asking for updates on the highly-anticipated 580RG since then.
On September 20th, TWSBI provided a quick update via their Instagram story with a brief overview of their process and also an estimated launch date, which is December 2019.
Quick update: We are working everyday to finish this pen.
Every metal part has to be milled, polished, heat treated before plating.
Than [sic] after the RoseGold plating/anodizing, it needs to be polished again.
We are working daily to try to have this ready before Christmas. Please be patient, it will come out within the next few months. Fingers crossed. Thank you everyone for the enthusiasm.
