When I was younger, the greeting cards that I would receive typically lacked personality. Even with a personal note written on it, it just did not feel personable. The lack of creativity also makes some of them seem like a card that you can purchase at the Dollar Tree (when it isn’t). Whenever I find greeting cards that have a unique design, I always gravitate towards them. Novelty greeting cards are one example. Typo has a lot of them and I would gladly pay $5-ish to gift this to a friend.
Typo is great with novelty cards, but what about those who want something simpler yet still personable?
Introducing Noodoodoodle!
Noodoodoodle is a small design studio based in Saint Paul, MN that specializes in greeting cards, gift wrap, and stickers. Beth, the founder, shares the same passion for letter writing and stationery. They recently launched the business and have a good amount of products in their inventory. All of their products are designed and printed in-house.
Beth sent over a few of their products to check out. The Everyday Cards, Just Wanted to Say Cards and Graphic Cards share the same specifications:
- Giclee print
- 100lb naturally-fleet card stock
- Includes Kraft envelopes
- 4.25 x 5.5in
- Paper produced using 100% hydropower
- Made from recycled material, FSC certified
- Archival quality
Spring/Summer Card Collection
Everyday Cards can be used for special occasions.
Just Wanted to Say cards are best for just writing a note to a friend or a loved one (maybe for no reason at all).
The Graphic Cards are the cards that are more of a blank slate and can be use for anything!
Geode Cards
Geode cards are also part of their greeting card line but have a small difference.
Instead of it being printed, these are hand-painted and hand-cut 100lbs card stock. It also comes with a contrast envelope – in the photo below, the Geode card is the green paper and the envelope is the yellow one.
Noodle Stickers
Noodoodoodle also has stickers to complement the stationery set. These neon stickers come in 3 colors: pink, orange, and yellow
Paper Quality
The overall paper quality is excellent. The card stock is thick and don’t feel cheap at all.
I was not able to test the paper with pencils and regular ballpoint pens. I did try some of my fountain pens on this paper.
There was no visible bleeding or feathering. The paper handled ink coming out of a TWSBI 1.1. stub pretty well. Sheening inks with the likes of the Organics Studio Nitrogen did not bleed through nor feather. Since this is card stock, don’t expect the smoothest writing experience. There is feedback and it is a bit toothy – maybe like how Midori MD paper feels like. Broad nib fountain pens will be best to use here.
Love this? Here’s where you can buy some!
You can get these greeting cards and other stationery/gift items from the Noodoodoodle website. Aside from greeting cards, you will also find some postcards, invitation cards, wrapping paper, and even washi tape!
Right now, the Spring/Summer collection is available now. In September, Noodoodoodle will launch their Fall/Winter (holiday) line.
