Film manufacturer, ILFORD Photo, teased on Instagram and Twitter about new film stocks (and possibly sheet films) to be released on October 24.
Ilford is well-known for their black and white films but not much is known about the new products. Ilford did confirm on Twitter that the new film stocks will not be color negative films. When asked if this was the return of “Ilfocolor” (colored film), they responded “That’s a definite no. Sorry.”
They also confirmed that there will be three distinct and different products. If you are familiar with Ilford films, they use colors to categorize each film stock. Purple is the Delta 3200, Green is Delta 400, Blue is Delta 100.
The Devil is in the Detail
Pay attention to the colors of their posters. Judging by their teasers, there will definitely be 3 different products (the ones in red will be the same emulsion but in a different format).
The purple poster has brought up much speculation that it would be a Delta 3200 sheet film. However, Ilford’s marketing team denied that it was.
Stay tuned for more updates from Ilford. They will be launching their new products during the Photoplus Expo on October 24th in New York City.
