Lamy, a German company known for their award-winning writing instruments, has released even more new things in 2019. Every year, Lamy releases special edition colors of their existing products, and every year, pen addicts (especially fountain pen geeks) try to get their hands on one. Lamy has been successful with their special edition product line but now, they have expanded their collection to notebooks.
Adding notebooks to their lineup means they will have achieved the fountain pen trifecta (pen, ink, paper). Only little is known about the new notebooks. There are no reviews of the paper quality yet but what we do know is that they will have both A5 and A6 booklets, and hardcover/softcover notebooks.
Notebooks
The hardcover and the softcover only differ in the material used in the cover. They both come in A5 and A6 sizes, has 192 pages of 90 gsm paper, with a back pocket, 8 detachable sheets, and two distinct ribbon bookmarks.
What’s interesting about their new notebooks is the ruling. They are advertised as “Lamy ruled paper” and are similar to a grid notebook but with emphasis on the horizontal lines. There are no details about the line height of the grids yet.
Hardcover
The hardcover comes in 3 colors: black, blue, and dark purple (which looks maroon in the photo) with pen loop and elastic band to match. It has that brushed metal finish that is reminiscent of the Lamy 2000 fountain pen.

Softcover
The softcover comes in 6 matte colors: black, blue, pink, green, white, umbra. Lamy has likened the colors to their Lamy Safari products.

Booklets
If you want a thinner notebook that only has 64 pages, the paper booklets might appeal to you more. The booklets only come in one color but they come in a set of 3.
Another difference to note is the stitch binding on the booklets (which is visible on the spine of the notebook).
