Lomography has just announced that they will be releasing the new Berlin Kino with a new and improved formula in 2019. The earlier version of the Berlin Kino was a success after its release in 2018. Following that success, the 2019 Berlin will be a refined emulsion of its predecessor.
In their press release, they claim that “Berlin Kino B&W film users will experience an upgrade in their freedom of creative choice, no matter if they shoot with 35 mm or 120 format.”
The exact improvements or change in formula was not stated but they promise that the refined formula will produce more detail in both bright and dimmer environments.
According to Lomography, you can push the film up to 3200 ISO “while retaining an impressive tonal range and detail”.
