Following their retirement announcement last year, it seems that Retro51 will continue operations thanks to the overwhelming support from the pen community.
In their blog, owner George Kartsotis, wrote that “After many conversations with loyal fans, collectors, well-wishers, and prospective owners an agreement has been made, a deal formed and completed.”
The new owners are fans and collectors, as well as accomplished business professionals. There will be some minor changes to come but with the guidance of the existing staff the basics will be the same.
A Letter from George
He further states that the new owners are fans and collectors who are also business owners. Current Retro51 core team, Vickie, Richard, and Dan, will continue to provide guidance to the new management. George will serve as their consultant for at least one year.
