In case you didn’t know, the Goulet Pen Company is one of the biggest online fountain pen retailers in the world. Goulet Pens has officially announced that they will be carrying the new Jacques Herbin line of products (specifically fountain pen inks and stationery sets).
How is this brand new information?
In 2018, J. Herbin split into Herbin and Jacques Herbin as part of their rebranding initiative. Jacques Herbin was created for the brand’s higher-end products. Prior to the split, J. Herbin had already released their “premium” inks such as the 1670 anniversary inks (Emerald of Chivor, etc.) and the newer 1798 line.
Why this is a big deal for Goulet?
The Goulet Pen Company (GPC) are officially Jacques Herbin’s exclusive retailer in the US. This means that they are the only company that carries the new collection in North America. Rachel Goulet has mentioned that they are only one of the handful retailers in the world who carry the brand.
This marks a significant milestone for Goulet Pens because J. Herbin was the very first brand that they carried when they started in 2009. With GPC now being one of the few stores that carry the premium line of inks, this really comes full circle for them.
Because Goulet Pens is one of the most reputable fountain pen retailers in the world, their market goes beyond North America. Because of their influence and reach, they will be able to sell these to any of the countries that USPS and/or FedEx ships to (check if they ship to your country here).
Being Jacques Herbin’s exclusive US retailer does not mean that other major pen retailers will not be authorized to sell the current line of shimmering inks like the 1670 and 1798. They are still authorized to sell the 1670 and the 1798 ink collection (shimmer inks). However, other retailers will not be able to carry the new fountain pen ink collection such as the Essentials line of fountain pen inks.
The new ink collection called the Essentielles (french for essential) is their standard line of inks. They are packaged similarly to the 1670 inks sans the wax seal and wax coated bottle cap.
