2020 has just started and TWSBI already announced their first limited edition for the year – and it’s not just any regular special edition pen. On January 6, TWSBI announced on Instagram that their newest special edition, TWSBI ECO White Rose Gold, will arrive on January 20th and will cost $49.99.
The rose gold version of the white TWSBI Eco is similar to their regular offering except that most (if not all) metal parts of the pen (clip, trim, and nib) will be plated in rose gold.
A Rose Gold Series?
They also stated in their announcement that the Eco is just the first in the Rose Gold series that they intend to launch this year. Series – meaning, expect more of Rose Gold plated fountain pens in the next few months. In fact, TWSBI hinted in 2019 that they have been working on the TWSBI 580RG (no updates as of writing). Little did we know that they have actually been working on more. However, other than the 580RG, there is no word yet on what other fountain pens in their line up will have a Rose Gold edition.
TWSBI explained in the past that the process of rose gold plating is quite complex and requires an extensive amount of work. Because of that, several fountain pen retailers are expecting to have limited quantities of the Eco RG.
Some have already made the pen available pre-order as early as January 13th! So make sure that you are part of your favorite fountain pen retailers mailing list so you won’t miss out on this gorgeous Rose Gold TWSBI Eco.
