TWSBI’s Newest Limited Edition Color for the ECO Fountain Pen

Fountain pen manufacturer, TWSBI, has announced on Instagram that they will be releasing their newest limited edition color for the ECO fountain pen – the Transparent Purple.

This will be TWSBI’s second limited edition color for the TWSBI ECO in 2019, the first being the TWSBI ECO Transparent Orange, which was released last April.

Let’s Talk About The Color

The color is simple and not gimmicky (if you get my meaning). If someone says “purple” or “violet”, this would be the color you’d think of. It’s not pale nor does it have a hint of another color.

TWSBI released a purple limited edition fountain pen this year but for the 580ALR purple. If you missed out on that or aren’t a fan of the ALR series, then you should get your hands on the TWSBI ECO Transparent Purple.

Inks to Pair With

First ink that I thought of was the Diamine Bilberry, which is one of my favorite inks in my personal collection.

Herbin Poussiere de Lune is also a good choice because it’s a nice violet that’s not so loud but also quite unique.

Jacques Herbin Amethyste de l’Oural is a nice violet ink that has a bit of shimmer in it. Great for those broad and stub nibs.

Noodler’s Black Swan in Australian Roses, while not exactly purple or violet, will make a good pairing for your new TWSBI ECO Transparent Purple.
